DFDS Seaways (The United Steamship Company) is an extremely well established company with origins as far back as 1866 and serves over 1.8 million passengers each year.


DFDS operates a total of five routes besides Esbjerg to Harwich, which include: Newcastle to Amsterdam, Newcastle to Gothenburg, Newcastle to Kristiansand and Copenhagen to Oslo.

For the Esbjerg to Harwich route the MS Dana Sirena is used. It is a modern vessel, only joining the fleet in 2003. Facilities on board ship include the 7 Seas Restaurant, the Blue Riband Restaurant and the Lighthouse Café for dining and the Columbus Lounge, Compass Disco and Kidz Club for relaxation and entertainment. There are three classes of cabin on ship plus the Sea Shop, where a wide variety of products are available for purchase.

Other ships in the company's fleet include the MS King and Queen of Scandinavia, which serves several routes and the MS Crown and Pearl of Scandinavia, which serves the Copenhagen to Oslo route.
